Stephen Colbert Rips Disney’s $12,000 FairyTale Weddings: ‘The Memories Will Last a Lifetime, Along With Your Debt’

Colbert is offering his own alternative to couples looking for an enchanted celebration on a budget

Stephen Colbert loves Disney, but is not a fan of the $12,000 minimum it costs to have a “FairyTale Wedding” at one of the Disney Resorts.

“The memories will last forever, along with your debt,” Colbert joked during “The Colbert Report” on Monday.

One of the most enchanting features Disney has to offer happy couples taking the plunge is a wedding cake with Disney cartoon characters projected onto them. But anyone who has ever gone grocery shopping on a budget knows store brand is almost always almost as good as name brand, so Colbert has a solution.

The Comedy Central talk show host is offering his own “Enchanted Princess Pixie Wedding Cake” for a modest price of $79.95.
