President Obama’s Last News Conference: Watch the Livestream Here (Video)

News conference set to begin at 11:15 a.m. PT, 2:15 ET

President Barack Obama’s final news conference is expected to cover his hopes for the nation once he hands over the presidency to Donald Trump on Friday — and you can watch it live above.

The news conference is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. PT, 2:15 p.m. ET.

Obama will obviously discuss Trump and the transition of power, but many are anticipating his comments on the decision to shorten the sentence of convicted leaker Chelsea Manning. The GOP has blasted the decision, with House Speaker Paul Ryan calling it “outrageous.”

Meanwhile, Obama’s staff is already packing up their offices and turning in their BlackBerrys, according to the Associated Press.

Obama returned to the Windy City last Tuesday to give his farewell address to the nation.

“I first came to Chicago when I was in my early 20s, still trying to figure out who I was, still searching for a purpose to my life,” Obama told a crowd of supporters in Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center. “This is where I learned that change only happens when ordinary people get involved, get engaged, and come together to demand it.”

Obama went on to insist that “in 10 days the world will witness the hallmark of our democracy. The peaceful transfer of power from one freely elected president to another.”
