“Naked and Afraid XL,” Discovery’s spinoff of “Naked and Afraid” promises to deliver more extreme challenges than ever before — and the contestants will all still be done in the nude.
Twelve of the smartest, most dynamic survivalists will brave 40 days and nights in a remote, equatorial jungle of Colombia. Stripped of their clothing, the six women and six men must rely on their own expertise to compete for the same limited resources, according to a statement from the network.
These all-stars have already conquered “Naked and Afraid,” so expect the tasks to be bigger and more intense. As seen above, one such test of character is confronting an electric eel.
The show serves as a survival and societal challenge, assessing how these extremists will respond to each other in their shared quest to master their environment. Will the group band together as one or will they see fit to form smaller clusters?
Discovery announced last month that it has renewed “Naked and Afraid” for Season 3.
