First Lady Melania Trump has responded to Donald Trump’s ex-wife Ivana Trump, who said on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Monday that she’s really the First Lady.

“I [don’t] really want to call him there, because Melania is there,” Ivana told ABC’s Amy Robach. “And I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that, because I’m basically first Trump wife. OK?,” she laughed. “I’m first lady.”

A representative for Melania told ABC on Monday that the First Lady is “proud” of her role, and is using her platform to “help children, not sell books.” Ivana was on the morning show to promote her new book, “Raising Trump.”

“Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President,” Melania’s spokesperson said.

“She loves living in Washington, D.C., and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States,” they continued. “She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”

Ivana’s book, out next week, documents her journey from growing up in Communist Czechoslovakia to moving to the United States and marrying the real estate mogul.
