Matthew King Joins Warners TV in Raft of Appointments, Promotions

King joins WB from Wonderland; several development execs promoted

Matthew King, most recently vice president of television at McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision, has joined Warner Bros. Television as VP, drama development.

King’s appointment was part of a number of new hires and promotions the TV studio announced Tuesday.

Among those promoted were Clancy Collins White, vice president, drama development, to senior VP, drama development; and Stephanie Groves, VP of current programming, to senior VP, current programming.

On the drama development side, in addition to bringing in King, WBTV promoted Lisa Roos, previously director, drama development, to VP, drama development. And on the comedy development side, Adrienne Turner, most recently VP, current programming, was shifted to VP, comedy development.

Odetta Watkins, director of current programming, was promoted to VP, current programming, succeeding Turner.

And Christopher Mack, director of the Warner Bros. Writers’ Workshop, was promoted to vp of the workshop, where he will continue to oversee the studio’s efforts to identify new writing talent for its comedy and drama series.

During her time as VP of drama development, Collins White helped develop such shows as "V" on ABC this season, and "Chase," the Jerry Bruckheimer drama that will be on the NBC fall schedule. In her prior role in current programming, she worked on series such as "Cold Case," "Without a Trace," and "Close to Home."

Groves has overseen creative affairs on such shows as "Fringe," "Supernatural," "Human Target," and "One Tree Hill." Turner has managed current programming for series such as "The Mentalist," and "The Big Bang Theory," as well as for "Friends," among others.

Roos has worked on assorted series, most recently the new CW series, "Nikita."

King spent two years at Wonderland Sound and Vision and prior to that was with Caryn Mandabach Productions for three years.

Watkins has been involved with "The Vampire Diaries."
