Making its first big programming moves since Nancy Dubuc took over as president and general manager, Lifetime announced three new drama pilots for 2011.
The three projects share, well, similar themes.
The lineup includes an untitled San Diego-based female-cop drama from Sony Pictures TV and Josh Berman, creator and executive producer of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva”; “Against the Wall,” a Chicago police-woman-themed hourlong from Annie Brunner; and “Exit 19,” which comes from the pen of writer-producer Jeffrey Bell and is focused on a single mom who happens to be (druuum roll) a cop!
“With a strong foundation in scripted programming firmly established by ‘Army Wives’ and ‘Drop Dead Diva,’ Lifetime is aggressively expanding its drama series development plate with powerful programs from creative auspices who have strong pedigrees in producing standout programming,” Dubuc said.
