Kathy Bates Undergoes Double Mastectomy After Breast Cancer Diagnosis

"I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss 'Harry's Law,'" Kathy Bates jokes of her recently canceled series

"Harry's Law" and "Misery" star Kathy Bates has undergone a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer, the actress revealed Wednesday.

Bates, 64, revealed her surgery via her Twitter account, telling her fans, "Hey All, sorry for the long silence. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago & am recovering from a double mastectomy."

Despite the experience, the actress appeared to be in good spirits, even joking about her recently canceled legal dramedy "Harry's Law," which got the hook from NBC in May after two seasons.

"I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss Harry's Law," Bates wrote, including a winking, smiley-face emotion. "Thanks for all the sweet tweets. Y’all kept me going."

This is the second battle with cancer for the 64-year-old Bates, who revealed in March that  she survived ovarian cancer nine years ago and underwent chemotherapy, according to People.

In addition to "Harry's Law," "Bates" guest-starred on the CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men" in April, playing the ghost of Charlie Harper, the character portrayed by Charlie Sheen before he was ousted from the show.
