John Shaffner is the new chair of the Art Directors Council, replacing Thomas A. Walsh, who remains president of the Art Directors Guild.
Shaffner, who recently completed four years as chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, is the former vice chair of the Council.
Corey Kaplan is the new vice chair. Jack Fisk also was elected to the council.
Shaffner is production designer on the television shows "Two and a Half Men," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Mike & Molly."

Fisk, who was nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for his work on "There Will be Blood," was a production designer on "The Tree of Life."
The Art Directors Council is one of four craft councils that make up the Art Directors Guild. The others are Scenic, Title & Graphic Artists, Set Designers & Model Makers and Illustrators & Matte Artists.
Ben Nowicki was recently elected to the Scenic, Title & Graphic Artists Council and James Hewitt was elected to the Set Designers and Model Makers Council.
