With June and July already crammed with blockbuster franchises, Fox has made August a little more crowded too by moving its umpteenth "Planet of the Apes" sequel from Thanksgiving weekend to August 5.
Said Fox executive VP of distribution Chris Aronson: "The movie looks terrific, and we think we can capitalize on the summer playtime by being the last tentpole of the summer."
Directed by Rupert Wyatt and starring James Franco, "Rise of the Apes" was originally slated for November 23.
