While discussing what she would like audiences to take away from her upcoming drama series “Good American Family,” Ellen Pompeo questioned what she feels is a double standard that benefits older white men — in that they are allowed to be felons in Trump’s America.

Pompeo appeared on Monday morning’s episode of “The View” and was asked by host Sunny Hostin what she hoped viewers would take away from her new Hulu limited series. The show is based on the real-life story of the adoption of Natalia Grace, a young girl with a rare form of dwarfism. It highlights the alleged abuse she endured while living with her adoptive parents and the media frenzy that ensued upon those revelations.

“Well, I hope they take away that we should rush to judgement a little less,” the “Grey’s Anatomy” actress said. “And I hope they look at themselves and ask themselves, we all should ask ourselves why do we look at something and at face value make a judgement about it?”

“I think we do that as human beings, and I think we all need a lot more empathy right now, and so I hope we take that away,” Pompeo continued. “I mean, why are old white men the only ones who are allowed to be felons? No one else can stay in this country if they’re a felon, but somehow if you’re –“

That is when co-host Ana Navarro cut in with some shade toward President Donald Trump and his beauty habits, picking up on exactly what and who Pompeo was hinting at.

“And he’s not even that white, have you seen the amount of makeup he’s wearing?” Navarro said.

“Good point,” Pompeo replied. Much of the dig appeared to be directed at the president’s recent political decisions and his own checkered past.

On the first day back in the Oval Office, Trump moved forward with his promise to launch the “largest deportation program in American history,” which targeted undocumented migrants, specifically prioritizing those with criminal backgrounds. According NBC News, ICE deported around 11,000 migrants in February.
