Hulu is developing “Demons,” a drama inspired by real events of the Satanic Panic hysteria of the 1980s and ’90s.
The project, which comes from Lionsgate studios, will follow Marilyn Jones — “patient zero” in the Satanic Ritual Abuse — and her husband Bennett Lewis, a manipulative psychiatrist. Each new season of “Demons” would follow a new crime affected by the couple’s exploration into memory and guilt.
The drama is created and written by Juliet Lashinsky-Revene. Karyn Usher and Lisa Zwerling will executive produce with Lashinsky-Revene under Carpool Entertainment. Amanda Tudesco will also produce.
“Demons” is Lashinsky-Revene’s first step into TV, and is planning on directing her first script, “Inheritance.” She is repped by Paradigm, Peter Dealbert of Pacific View Management and Jackoway Tyerman.
