The debut of CBS' new Monday-night 8:30 comedy "Mad Love" yielded respectable ratings, helping the network win the night in total viewers and adults 18-49.
The Pamela Fryman-created young-adult relationship comedy, which stars Jason Biggs and Sarah Chalke, averaged a 3.0 rating/8 share in adults 18-49, down about 19 percent from its "How I Met Your Mother" lead-in, and only off about 8 percent in total viewers
"Mad Love" was up narrowly, 4 percent, in households over the show it replaced, "Rules of Engagement."
CBS' night was also bolstored by the 9:30 run of freshman Chuck Lorre comedy "Mike & Molly," which had its season high in total viewers (13.1 million).
