Emmys host Andy Samberg has joined Twitter three weeks in advance of television’s biggest night.
For his first tweet, Samberg, who managed to secure @AndySamberg, asked @TheLonelyIsland to follow him. Of course, The Lonely Island is Samberg’s comedy troupe with Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer.
Samberg has nearly 3,000 followers as of 10:20 a.m. and that number is expected to skyrocket throughout the day as his “Saturday Night Live” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” fans learn of his new account.
Ever the joker, Samberg chose a black-and-white shot of him nervously clutching a variety of liquor bottles for his profile picture.
