Little surprise — including the proliferation of fake cliffhanger drama — was the name of the game for Wednesday's "American Idol" episode, during which 14 of the top 24 semifinalists were revealed.
Fan favorites Heejun Han, Phillip Phillips and Reed Grimm (he of the "Family Matters" theme song performance, pictured at left) were among the six guys who snagged top 24 spots, while Baylie Brown, Erika Van Pelt and Brielle Von Hugel were among the eight females who won top 24 spots.
That means that just four spots for remaining females and six spots for the remaining males are open heading into Thursday's episode, when the rest of the semifinalists will be named. Live performance episodes begin next week.

Other guys who've made the top 24 cut so far: Colton Dixon, Creighton Fraker, Grimm, Han, Joshua Ledet and Phillips.
And the women: Brown, Jen Hirsh, Haley Johnson, Sanchez, Chelsea Sorrell, Elise Testone, Van Pelt and Von Hugel.
