“60 Minutes” raised some eyebrows on Twitter Monday after a curious tweet praising Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Bin Salman made headlines in November for imprisoning and possibly torturing a number of his nation’s leading citizens at the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh. At least one detainee died while in custody. Witnesses told the New York Times that his body has been bruised and his neck appeared to be twisted.
“Prince Mohammed bin Salman is already the most dominant Arab leader in a generation. His reforms inside Saudi Arabia have been revolutionary,” the show tweeted Monday to promote its interview with him. “He’s emancipating women, introducing music and cinema and cracking down on corruption in a land with 15K princes.”

“How has this not been deleted” asked CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski.
A spokesperson for “60 Minutes” did not immediately respond to request for comment from TheWrap.

Kaczynski, however, was hardly alone. The tweet also raised eyebrows in the “60 Minutes” mentions, where people took issue with the prince’s human rights record and his ongoing war in neighboring Yemen.
You forgot to add he is also killing Yameni children.

The prince stopped by “60 Minutes” while visiting the United States. He is scheduled to meet with President Trump on Tuesday.
